At Modern Illustrated Classics, we take our art very seriously. After all, "Illustrated" is almost half of our name, if you count up the letters. All of our illustrators are experts in their particular field of artistic endeavor, from watercolor to etch-a-sketch.
The process begins with the Modern Illustrated Classics team selecting an artist whose work we feel will best compliment the prose of our next novel, then sending an intern to lovingly and carefully summarize the plot of the book to them. Once the artist feels like they have the gist of the story, they get to work, often spending upwards of fifteen minutes on a single illustration. Those illustrations are then digitized and printed in lifelike color on expensive paper in each collector's edition book.
